A practical look at high-security cylinders, key control, and access systems. Written for Surrey, British Columbia.
Define the problem before the product
High-security hardware is most useful when it addresses a real access, key-control, or door-use issue. Start with the current door, lock, users, and operational concern.
Keep the hierarchy clear
A master-key arrangement or controlled-access system should reflect who needs access to which doors. Clear records and thoughtful implementation are as important as the hardware itself.
How this applies in Surrey
In Surrey, requests span houses, suites, condos, retail spaces, and commercial bays; the property type and people who need access guide the practical options. A Surrey lockout, rekey, commercial door issue, or vehicle-key problem deserves a clear plan based on the property, vehicle, and access situation.
